Music Directors Cindy And Steve Story
In the fall of 1991 at the invitation of the first pastor of what was to later become Chapel Hill UMC, Steve and Cindy were asked to become the first music leaders of this new work. Thrilled at this open door, they accepted and became staff members as well as charter members of Rome’s newest church.
Steve has served in local church ministry in recreation, youth, education, and music for the past 35 years. Cindy has 40 years of experience as church pianist and music coordinator.
Steve retired from education while Cindy continues to teach private piano lessons in her home studio, doing so since 1974. While both are graduates of Berry College, Cindy received her Master's degree from Georgia State University. Steve later received a Master's degree from West Georgia College and a Specialist’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University.
Married 33 years, Steve and Cindy believe faith in the Lord, music and corporate worship have always held a unifying place in their relationship. The couple is blessed with 2 children, Drew and Chelsea, who are also charter members of Chapel Hill UMC.
